Terre des hommes Albania continues to invest in increasing the capacities of professionals of Community Centers in the Municipality of Tirana in collaboration with The National CVE Coordination Center - Albania. Interviewing techniques in working with traumatized children and strengthening skills provide a safe and supportive environment. Participants, by sharing experiences and challenges, have learned how to improve their daily work with children. Key issues were addressed, starting from the basic principles, strategies and the importance of a caring approach that helps the child to express himself.
Art therapy was also an important training that empowered frontline professionals with a creative and inclusive approach in order to support returned children and families. Participants had the opportunity to express feelings through visual forms, process emotional experiences, build deeper connections with those they support, and create safe spaces for emotional expression and reflection. Art as a therapeutic tool create ways for deeper communication, especially in cases where words are lacking. This training is an important step towards providing more sensitive psychological services at the community level.
These activities were carried out within the project "Prevention and Safe Reintegration: Holistic Approach and Resilience to Violent Extremism" implemented by Terre des hommes with GCERF (Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund) funding.
