In a significant stride towards enhancing the justice system's approach to handling cases involving minors and victims of physical and sexual abuse, Terre des hommes (Tdh) recently concluded a comprehensive training session in Vlora. This initiative was organized in collaboration with the General Prosecutor's Office under the "Youth Voice for Justice and Rights" project, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and ADC in Albania.
The training brought together twenty-six participants, including prosecutors, judicial police officers, and coordinators of subjects with special status from the Prosecutor's Offices of Vlora, Fier, Gjirokastra, Saranda, and Berat. These professionals were equipped with advanced techniques for conducting friendly and effective interviews with minors, ensuring a more sensitive and supportive approach to dealing with young victims of abuse.
The session was led by Professor Associate Doctor Ervin Karamuço, whose expertise provided invaluable insights into the intricacies of interviewing minors. Dr. Karamuço's guidance was instrumental in fostering a deeper understanding among the participants about the importance of adopting child-friendly methodologies in their investigative processes.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the training, highlighting its relevance to their daily professional challenges. "The organizational methods and techniques of the investigation are as important as addressing the problems we encounter in our daily lives, so I consider participating in this training very positive," remarked one of the prosecutors.
