International Family Day, Young People Engage Together with Parents in Support of the Environment

In celebration of Family Day, young people in four different cities, as Lezhë, Dibër, Elbasan, and Fier, engaged in activities aimed at emphasizing the importance of family as a fundamental value in society. From the informative sessions with young people organized in Lezhë and Fier, to the awareness-raising activities at the Community Center for the Aging and Persons with Disabilities in Elbasan, the young people engaged in the project "Youth Voice for Justice an Rights" with funding from the Austrian Development Agency and ADC in Albania felt like active participants on a special day dedicated to the family.

Arsilda from Lezha shared her impression after participating in the info session: “From this meeting and the topics discussed, I reflected on the importance of family to me and how precious the time spent with them is.”

In Diber, the day is being used to highlight the role families can play in protecting and preserving our environment.
The "Flowers for Oxygen" initiative is a youth-led project that involves planting a variety of flowers in collaboration with their parents. The goal was to plant flowers in spaces where they spend a significant amount of time to increase oxygen levels.

"I had never helped my mother plant flowers at home because I saw it as a task for girls, but I felt really good when I finally made a vase myself.I realized that no matter how small my work today, it has value, since the change starts from myself," says Arbri, a 15-year-old from Dibra.
