On this day, about 50 students from "Janaq Kilica" High School in Fier, along with frontline Child Protectionβs professionals from the municipality, representatives from the police department, the prosecution office, and regional hospital, came together with representatives of Terre des hommes Albania, in solidarity to raise awareness about human trafficking, in the month dedicated to addressing this phenomenon, to move from awareness to action. The young people who attend this activity shared encouraging messages:
"Not giving up, but overcoming fear and prejudice, and asking for help!"
"Shame is feeling ashamed, but not asking for help."
"Only together can take a stand against it."
Through this activity, the students learned more about the services offered by the One Stop Center of Fier. Services that protect children, victims, and witnesses of the most serious forms of violence, including sexual abuse. In this conversation, the young people were introduced to the institutional mechanisms that ensure the protection of minors. Now they know how they can help on this fight:
- By Educating Themself: Knowledge is power! Learn about the signs and realities of human trafficking, so they can share this information with other peers.
- By Reporting Suspicious Activity: If they see something, say something. Their call can save lives.
This activity was organized within the program "πππππ ππππππ‘πππ ππ π‘βπ πππ‘πππππ π ππ ππππ π π‘π π»π’πππ πππππππππππ ππ πππ ππππ π΄ππππππ", implemented by Tdh, led by UNICEF Albania and supported by the British Embassy Tirana.
