Child Protection Document for Case Management in the Humanitarian Context

Unaccompanied or separated children are particularly vulnerable and the challenges they face require special responses. It is difficult to obtain accurate global figures regarding the number of children travelling independently, but their number is increasing.

This document is written for all actors working in the field of child protection, and presents a structured approach to the identification and support of particularly vulnerable refugee/migrant children (unaccompanied or separated children).

The purpose of the document is to ensure that all stakeholders have the same understanding of the risks children face in emergencies and to ensure that children receive appropriate support in all situations where it is required.
