45 Frontline Professionals From Fier and Shkoder Were Trained on the Consequences of Child Sexual Abuse.

Terre des hommes continues to contribute to strengthening the capacities of frontline professionals in the child protection system. In Shkodër and Fier, approximately 45 professionals, including child protection workers, psychologists, social workers from regional schools and hospitals, judicial police officers, prosecutors, lawyers, and staff from one-stop centers, participated in two training sessions on "Psycho-Social and Physical Consequences of Sexual Abuse." The training provided an opportunity for discussion and the sharing of experiences on various topics such as:
•    Sexual abuse and its consequences - trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
•    Stigma related to sexual abuse.
•    Collaborate with family members,
•    Intersectoral cooperation is essential for effective case management to address the needs of abused children.

"This training makes us aware, above all, of the importance of including all other institutions that prioritize the protection of the child's best interests. It brings us together with the same goal in mind." - says Vilda Bilani, a school psychologist in Shkodër.

While Edlir Doko, the coordinator of the one-stop center near the regional hospital in the city of Fier, views participation in the training cycle for capacity building as a significant opportunity.
"I felt fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in these trainings. I believe that each of these experiences has been valuable, not only for my professional development, but also for building relationships with the diverse group of individuals we collaborate with in the city of Fier, and beyond".

These trainings were organized by Terre des hommes as one of the partners implementing the program "𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑁𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝐻𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑓𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝐴𝑙𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑎", led by UNICEF Albania and supported by the British Embassy Tirana .
