The well-being of young people is the focus of our work. Therefore, the Terre des hommes teams in Fier and Dibër organized, as part of the European Mental Health Week, an awareness meeting among the groups of young people involved in the "Youth Voice for Justice and Rights" project, financially supported by the Austrian Development Agency and ADC in Albania.
Upon familiarizing themselves with the psychological and health services available for individuals of all ages regarding mental health issues, young people discovered that no one has to face these challenges alone! The focus of these gatherings was to provide young individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate mental health challenges. By addressing issues such as stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being, the Tdh teams aimed to equip participants with practical coping mechanisms and a better understanding of mental health's importance.
The awareness meetings in Fier and Dibër not only addressed critical mental health issues but also empowered young individuals to take an active role in their communities. 16-year-old Arion claims that before this meeting, he had no information about the existence of such services for people in need. "Today, I was introduced to the Community Mental Health Center for the first time. I realized that the more we talk about mental health issues, the more we can influence to improve the lives of many of our peers and relatives."
