Aware of the positive impact that sports bring to their lives, the young people of the "YouCreate" group, who receive services at the Multifunctional Community Center in Bulqiza, took the initiative to organize a series of sports activities on the eve of the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace (April 6). From the football field, our youth have come to realize that through sports, they all feel equal, regardless of socio-economic status, ethnicity, or race. "Through the activities we carried out today, my peers and I understood the values of teamwork, cooperation, and empathy, which are the foundations of a more inclusive society," says 17-year-old girl, Eni.
This youth initiative was made possible within the program "Transformation of the National Response to Human Trafficking in and from Albania," led by UNICEF Albania and financially supported by the British Embassy Tirana.
On this international day, another incredible initiative was taken by our youth group of Elbasan, engaged to make a positive impact in our community, within the framework of the project “Youth Voice for Justice and Rights” with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency and ADC in Albania.
Despite facing challenges, including broken basketball hoops at the central park of Elbasan, our determined youth refused to sit back. Instead, they took matters into their own hands, demonstrating leadership and teamwork.Through their hard work and perseverance, they're not only repairing basketball hoops but also restoring hope and revitalizing our community spirit. This initiative exemplifies the power of sports as a force for positive change!
Let's applaud the inspiring efforts of our youth and reaffirm the Tdh Albania commitment to highlight the unifying power of sports to build a better world for all.
