The week dedicated to children's rights concluded in Dibër with an information session involving the local structures of the Municipality of Peshkopi, school students, and the youth group participating in the "Youth Voice for Justice and Rights" project, which is funded by the Austrian Developmentnet Agency and ADC in Albania. During this meeting, the young people were introduced to the role of the Child Protection Unit and other local institutions that are responsible for ensuring the implementation of children's rights.
Aldo, who is 16 years old, described the meeting as important because it was the first time he learned where he could seek help if his rights were violated.
"For the first time, I learned that there is an office dedicated to the protection of children in the municipality. I discovered that I can go there for any problem that I or my peers may have outside of it."
For Alba Saraçin, a social worker at General Secondary School in Peshkopi, such activities should be conducted as frequently as possible.
"Today, we all learned from each other! Every child possesses a hidden talent that must be nurtured. Only by doing so can we shape a better future, for no material possession can compare to the value of a child."
