The Voice of America has dedicated a news report on the phenomenon of unaccompanied migrant children in the EU countries, focusing on the work of Albanian authorities and the analysis of researchers on the social developments of the last 10 years. In this report, Terre des hommes, one of the main actors providing services for the reintegration of these children, talks about the challenge of extending the necessary services for children throughout the territory. The Head of the Migration and Anti-Trafficking Program in Tdh Albania, Mrs. Renata Cenko, says:
"Community centers or services provided by Terre des hommes and social services provided by municipalities are difficult to extend throughout the whole country as children come from different geographical areas, not only from downtown, but also from the surroundings and sub-urban areas."
According to Eurostat data, in the last 10 years, 2120 unaccompanied children have applied for asylum in EU countries.
