One Stop Centers, specialists: Workshops like this play a key role in overcoming the challenges of this new service!

Enkelejda and Anxhela, respectively, a specialist for minors and domestic violence at the Fier Local Police Directorate and the other Coordinator of the One-Stop Center in Shkodra, participated in a workshop organized by Terre des hommes within the framework of the project " Preventive Resilience Building and Immediate Response Services for Children’s Victims of Trafficking and Severe Forms of Violence", implemented by Terre des hommes and UNICEF Albania with the financial support of the British Embassy Tirana. Get to know their impressions after the workshop.

Hello! I am Enkelejda. I am a specialist for minors and domestic violence at the Fier Local Police Directorate. Being part of this training was very important because it has brought us all together, actors from both districts where the one-stop centers have been set up to share our experiences, to increase collaboration, to learn from each other, to better see the functional tasks and what we can do in such a way that we can provide a multidisciplinary approach to a child at risk. This is a new brain service, and it seems that there are difficulties, but I believe we will make it possible to transfer the child to the interview units of the local directorates. The units are already adapted for this kind of service. I strongly believe we will be able to coordinate the actions so that the children receive the right service and that the interview is done only once, because it is important to interview the child as little as possible.

“I am Anxhela Radovani and I cover the position of the coordinator at the One-Stop Center in Shkodra. The expectations of this first day of the workshop were fulfilled with the exchange of experiences of these two centers’ staff, located one in Shkodra and the other in Fier. We can even say that the expectations were exceeded as we also shared the challenges of this process. I think that such meetings are essential for a service that is new because they also help us to raise an ideal model and go where we need with these models and new services. Bringing all stakeholders to the table is very difficult. Making them move in one direction is also a challenge. Having the same understanding of this new service is also a challenge, as well.
